Summer Nights || Lake Photography

Hello everyone! Summer is officially here and I couldn’t be more excited! It’s so nice to be able to have a break from school and just relax. I’ve spent many of my evenings with a book or watching the sunset over the lake, and it’s been very refreshing. What do you like to do on warm summer nights?

My family moved last fall and we now live very close to a lake. It’s our first summer here and it seems that we’ve taken up fishing, haha. My younger siblings really enjoy it, and I’ve loved all the times I’ve been able to watch the sunset on the lake. It’s always so peaceful and quite. I have fished some ( and got way too excited when I caught a fish, lol ) and I’ve really enjoyed taking pictures during this time. Sunsets on the lake? I’m definitely in. I’ve taking many pictures the last few times we’ve gone, and I thought I’d share a few of them today. 🙂

  1. Wow, those are gorgeous! My brothers like going fishing, but they don’t know how to get the fish off the hooks, so I always have to come do it. XD

  6. Awesome pictures, I like them all.
    I don’t fish any more but I loved fishing when I was younger.
    I am caring for my elderly father so I am not getting to spend any time out in nature but that is what I would like to be doing in the summer time.

      1. Great photos of a beautiful spot! Living away from either a lake or an ocean has been interesting, and the prairie skies do light up sometimes, but to me there’s nothing better than a photo of a flaming sky over a body of water. My photographer father would have agreed, and he would have included the fishing rod shot as well!

  17. All of these pictures are gorgeous! If I had to choose a favorite, I’d probably choose the last picture.
    I also live next to a lake! I’ve never tried fishing in that lake, probably because I don’t have the patience to wait for the fish. 😂

    I like them all but the sunset with the fishing pole draws me in.

    Have a fun summer! My son got married and it was a beautiful wedding! That was a fabulous highlight for me!

  26. Loved all the pictures! The one of the fishing rod is really pretty! I like fishing, but the friends who go with me always throw the fish back in the water before I can take a picture of it. 😛

  43. That first photo is my favorite but I love all of them. We just got back from our summer vacation on the Gulf of Mexico and I enjoyed the sunsets (I stayed in bed too long to see any of the sunrises).
