Beach Photography at Sunrise

Hello everyone! I hope that you guys are having a great week. My family just got back from a beach vacation at Hunting Island, and I have many pictures to share. I’m going to break them up into a couple posts, and today I wanted to share some that I got one morning. I am definitely not a morning person, but I knew that I wanted to get up early one day to capture the sunrise. My family stayed at a campground right at the beach, so we were able to get up and walk right to it. Me, my dad, and sister headed down to the beach around 6:30am.

We got down to the beach and one of the first things we notice is a shark swimming very close to the shore. It was still pretty dark at that point ( and in that moment my camera decided to not work ) but I was able to get a picture of it with my phone. It’s grainy but I thought I’d share it anyways. πŸ™‚

It was definitely neat to see! Though almost too close for comfort. πŸ˜‰ Down below are some pictures I got once the sun started to rise.

  1. I’m not much of a morning person either, but these are beautiful! I really liked the picture of the crab. It’s cool that you got to see a shark, but also kind of scary! πŸ™‚

  2. As a person who bodyboards I would FREAK OUT if I saw a shark that close to shore. (I’m paranoid about sharks… and all the more after watching Jaws) Beautiful photos though! πŸ˜€ Love the sunset one.

    1. Yeah, if I was in the water at all I would have freaked out. That’s cool that you bodyboard! I tried it once and it was a complete fail πŸ˜‚ Lol yes! I watched Jaws when I was 11 and have been nervous about getting in the ocean since, haha. Thanks Lilian!

      1. Lol you watched it at 11 too? How funny! My brother wanted to watch it so I of course was like “Me too!” and it scarred me (well, almost). xD Actually, my brother and I recently went bodyboarding and a sea lion swam (more like darted?) right past him – maybe about 3 feet away from him – and it completely freaked us all out. ;P

  3. Wow, I love how you just casually saw a shark at the beach! πŸ˜† I would love to go to the sea and see a sea animal (SEA what I did there πŸ˜‰ ) some day.

    Gorgeous sunrise you captured ❀

    1. Aw, thanks Paige! Yes, it was our first time seeing one at the beach and we definitely wouldn’t want to see one if we had planned to get in the water! πŸ˜€

  4. WHOA, you got to see a shark? That’s amazing(ly terrifying)! XD We’ve seen dolphins before, but no sharks. Also your photography is BEAUTIFUL, as always. Yikes, favorite photo is a hard choice, but maybe the last one? I love them all. ❀
