Nature Photography

Hello everyone! I hope that you all had a great Thanksgiving. I can’t believe that it is now December and 2018 is coming to a close. I spent last week in Georgia ( where I lived all of my life until last year ) and it was so nice getting to visit family and friends. What has everyone been up to during this busy time of the year?

Today, I have some nature photography to share. I feel like I haven’t done a post with just nature pictures in awhile. I’ve been really getting into book photography and I’ve been throwing in some other kinds of photography as well, but I still mainly want to focus on nature. That is the way this blog started out and I plan to keep it that way for now. 🙂

Also, I am super bummed because it looks like my favorite lens is broken. At first I was thinking that it might be something with my camera but I changed the lens and it worked just fine again. I am very grateful that it wasn’t the camera itself, but it is disappointing that my 18-55 broke. With that being said, I pulled out my 75-300 for the first time in forever today, and I loved taking pictures with it! It has such a crisp focus and I don’t know why I haven’t used it more. It’s the only working lens I have for now so I’ll definitely be using it more. Down below are a few pictures I took with it this afternoon.

  1. Oh, soooo pretty, Maddy!!! My favorite pic is the rose bud one… I LOVE that one!!! ❤ ❤ ❤ Oh, and I'm so sorry that your lens broke… That's so sad!!! I hope you are able to fix it, or easily get a new one!!!

  2. Oh no! I am sorry, Maddy. At least Christmas is coming up soon, so maybe you will get a lens then. Those pictures are still stunning though! I especially love the one of the rose with water droplets… Great work! 🙂

  3. Wow! Amazing photos! I love the 2nd one!

Such a shame about your lens, the lens you used for these ones looks awesome though! When I had a 70-300mm I used it for everything, a 70-300m lens is so versatile and just awesome in my opinion. Hope you get it fixed or replaced soon! Look up MPB, they do loads of lenses at cheap prices with guarantees!

  4. Ooh I love these photos! ❤️🍁🌹 Sorry about your lens, hope that can get fixed soon. 😊 I’ve been working on different little projects this month, writing blog posts, and planning out what presents I’ll be buying!
I hope you have a beautiful December!

  5. My favorite thing about 2018 is our 30th wedding anniversary.
That’s a bummer about your lens! Great pictures!!

For the rest of the year, I am trying to catch up on my book reviews.

    Merry Christmas!!

  6. Hi Maddy 🙂 These are such beautiful photos. I really like them all. I’m hoping to finish wrapping presents and checking everyone off of my list. Sorry about your lens but I think its great that you were able to use your other lens and capture some great photos. I hope you have a great December. 😀

  7. Interesting post, Maddy. My two cameras are single lens cameras, so always interesting to see what a more versatile camera can do. Nice work, enough I went to Etsy 1st time in beyond decades to see ur work; really liked the camera/waterfall shot; all the best! 🙂

  8. Lovely photos. I always enjoy a moody leaf image. Connects with me. Sorry about your lens. That’s rough. I just got my new camera in the mail and it was broken so I am sadly with nothing to shoot with right now. Sad days.

  9. These photos are amazing! I love the simplicity of the first one with the orange leaf, and I love the roses (i think they are roses).

basically i just love them all

I just bought a 70-300mm lens of mpb, and i think someone else mentioned it before. I havent got mine yet but they are so affordable! All my camera equipment is second hand so its great to use 🙂 xx

    1. Thank you so much!

That’s good to know! I’ve been looking at mpb and their prices are just so much cheaper. I’ve always been a little worried about buying second hand but I might just try it. 🙂

  10. Great pictures. Last half of last year decided to take my photography more seriously. Opened up an Etsy shop as well, and plan to really put a lot of effort into perfecting my photography skills as well being more active in the community.

  11. I have had a broken lense once. I am glad that I was able to fix it myself. Of all of my lenses, I like my 18-55 a lot, but the 70-300 realy comes in handy sometimes. You are great at photography. I am still learning. I think that you are very gifted.

    1. My dad actually fixed my lens the other day which I am very happy about. 😄 Yeah, definitely. I think the 18-55 is my favorite, but I like using the 70-300 as well. Thank you!

  12. I have just found your blog and I have to say these pictures are great! I’ve just started with photography so I can’t get pictures this good yet but these are lovely, I’ve been practicing on wildlife but I think I need a longer lens.

    1. Welcome to my small corner of the web! Thank you! I’m sure your pictures are wonderful. It does take time thought to feel more comfortable with using a camera. Wildlife is great to practice on! One of my favorites. 😀 What kind of lens are you using?

      1. I’m learning manual mode as so far I just used the preset scenes. I’m using a Canon efs 18-55mm IS lens. I’ll be posting some of the pictures I took this week on a blog post once I have them off of my camera.

      2. Manual mode takes time to learn but it’s definitely worth it. Awesome, that’s my favorite lens to use. I’ll make sure to stop by your blog and check out your pictures! ☺️

  14. I have a very expensive camera bought a year back and is still resting in its case. I am thinking of taking up photography as a hobby. But LOL I am shy to take out the camera. Anyway my blog can benefit from a design tweaking.

      1. Haha! Photos can def. keep memories for you just as well as words. But if your not into photography, don’t make yourself, you won’t enjoy it and it won’t flow. 😛 Juts use the talents that God’s given ya!

      2. Haha, yes, cameras capture things we cannot and then they share it with others so we can all enjoy it! Another art 🙂
Well, if God created you, you are special! You have talents of all kinds, every part of you is special and so perfectly put together for a purpose by the One who truly loves you and cares about YOU! And God did give you something; His life. 😉
Oh, yes, and your writing talent!

      3. Well, yes, people believe that all the gods are the same. But, if you really dive in…
God of the Christian’s said, “I am THE way THE truth and THE life. No one comes to the Father expect through ME.”
God of the Muslims demands violence and force to convert and to kill all those who do not follow him.
God of the Catholics was used for power. He allows those who want to, to sin
God of Hindus says that you have to earn your way into heaven and peace. Yet, the Christian God says that heaven is a free gift and that you can never earn it!
Some believe that god is a spoggeti monster in the sky….
All religions are not the same, and one of us has to be right.
        🙂 Have a Good Friday!

  15. WOW, there is no other word to describe these pictures! I just did a post on nature photography, but it looks so amateur compared to these pictures! BTW, I have a post request: can you explain all this stuff about lens and camera parts! Thanks a lot!

  16. My sis and I are Photography crazed! Constantly taking photos and commenting on others. So, saying having a huge obsession with this spectacular art, has shown me quite a lot of good and bad examples. And yours are definitely very good!
Thanks, for sharing and keep up this amazing work! 😊
